Jonathan Besley (Project leader)
Jonathan is 22 and Graduated from the University of Durham in July 2000 with an honours degree in Combined Arts. He has experience of caring for disadvantaged children and has travelled extensively. Jonathan left Gresham's School in 1996 and since leaving university has been living in Canterbury and coordinating this project.

Rachel Hainsworth (PR)
Aged 21 Rachel studied Business Communication at the North of England College in Leeds. She graduated in June 2000. Rachel was deputy Head Girl at Stonyhurst College which she left in 1998. Before commencing her studies in Leeds she taught deprived children in India. She has coordinated Fund-raising for the 'Learning to Care' Organisation and her administrative skills are important to the project's success.

Rory Morison (Political Research/Red tape)
Aged 23 Rory graduated from the University of Durham in July 2000 with an honours degree in Geography. He enjoys sports and theatre and plays rugby regularly for his local side in London. Leaving Clifton College in 1996, where he was Head boy, he enjoyed a year of teaching in Kenya before commencing his degree. Rory worked in a London stockbrokers for eight months before moving to Kent with the rest of the team.

Mark Judson (Logistics)
Mark is 22 and recently gained an honours degree in Business Management from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He left Gresham's School in 1996 and has since travelled extensively in Africa. Now living in Canterbury with the majority of the team, Mark is a highly practical team member and well suited to his logistical role.

Charles Bridges (Geographical Logistics)
Charlie is 22 and graduated from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth in July 2000 with an honours degree in Geography. He has a creative mind and is a keen musician. Charlie left St. Vincent Tertiary College in 1996 and has recently gained experience of African travel. His knowledge of arid and semi-arid environments, route planning, cartography and climatology will be invaluable.

Helen Bennet (Camerawoman)
23 year old Helen lives in Cape Town where she runs Kryptonite Productions, a multi award winning Film and Television Production Company. Helen is accompanying the Kent2capeTown.com team as a documentary maker. She will be shooting footage on a Sony PD150 DVCAM which will be marketed to both British and South African television networks as a six-part series following the teams trials and experiences.

Sarah Gray (UK Representative)
